As the Mint card explains, the coin was designed by Royal Canadian Mint engraver José Osio, and the other side carries Queen Elizabeth II by Dora de Pédery-Hunt. The card also tells how the railway reached the Rockies in 1883 and workers found the hot springs at Banff, which led to Canada's national parks. The Mint produced 35,000 of these coins.

Why We Love This One

A stunning mountain scene in a beautiful wooden box.
