Historical Significance

The Columbian half was the first traditional U.S. commemorative coin and the first U.S. coin to show a real historical person. It was sold at the fair for $1, twice face value, but sales were hurt by the Panic of 1893; of the 4,052,105 struck that year, 2,501,700 were later melted and many others went into circulation.

Why We Love This One

A 130-year-old piece of the Chicago World's Fair, in 90% silver. The rim damage is part of its story and keeps the price friendly.

Please note: this item is sold as is, including its packaging. The photos show the exact piece you will receive.
