Historical Significance

To help pay for the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Canada issued 28 sterling silver coins in seven series of four between 1973 and 1976. They were the first Olympic coins Canada ever made, and the program raised money for the Games while giving collectors a set to build year by year.

Series VII was the seventh and last series. Its information card credits the coin designs to Elliot Morrison of Stewart & Morrison, Toronto, and the stadium and velodrome architectural concept to Roger Taillibert.

Why We Love This One

The final series of the Montreal program, showing the venues where the 1976 Games happened. Over four ounces of sterling silver with the original case and card.
