Historical Significance
Sarajevo, then part of Yugoslavia, hosted the Winter Olympics in February 1984. Ahead of the Games, Yugoslavia issued a series of silver commemorative coins dated 1982 to 1984. The 100 dinara coins show winter sports such as hockey, figure skating and bobsled. The 250 dinara coins show the region's history and landmarks, and the 500 dinara coins show skiing events.
