Historical Significance
For decades the RCMP patrolled Canada's North by dog sled, covering huge distances between remote settlements. The last of those patrols took place in 1969, after which snowmobiles and aircraft took over. The reverse was designed by Ian Sparks and engraved by Ago Aarand.
The Mint struck 227,907 of these in proof.
Why We Love This One
The dogs on this one look like they're about to run right off the coin. A great piece of northern RCMP history in sterling silver.
