Historical Significance
The North-West Mounted Police was formed in May 1873 to bring law and order to Canada's western frontier, and in 1920 it became the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The reverse is by artist Adeline Halvorson and the obverse portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is by Dora de Pédery-Hunt. The Mint lists a mintage of 130,795.
