A tower of ten-thousand-year-old ice, drifting across a full ounce of silver. This 2004 $20 coin from the Royal Canadian Mint's Natural Wonders series captures a classic “pinnacle” iceberg in shimmering hologram — adapted by the Mint's engravers from a photograph supplied by Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism. As the coin tilts, the holographic berg shifts through cold blues and violets against frosted proof seas.

Historical Significance

Every spring, ten-thousand-year-old giants calved from Greenland's glaciers parade down Newfoundland's “Iceberg Alley” — one of the natural spectacles that defines Canada's Atlantic coast. The Natural Wonders series (2003–2005) rendered these landscapes in holographic silver, and the Iceberg pairs naturally with its 2004 sister coin, the Aurora Borealis hologram, also available in this shop.

Why We Love This One

Tilt it and the iceberg glows blue and violet — it looks cold in the best way. Grab it with the Aurora Borealis for a matching Natural Wonders pair.
