A goodbye to the Canadian penny in pure silver. This 2012 $20 for $20 from the Royal Canadian Mint shows maple leaves landing on water, a nod to the maple leaf twig that appeared on the one-cent coin for decades.
Struck in 99.99% pure silver, 7.96 g and 27 mm across, with a specimen finish. Each comes sealed in its sleeve inside the Mint's 'Farewell to the Penny' folder.

Historical Significance
As the Mint's folder explains, G.E. Kruger-Gray's maple leaf twig design appeared on the penny from 1937, except for the special Centennial penny of 1967. Artist Jesse Koreck designed this tribute, and the Mint limited the coin to 250,000 pieces.
