Struck in 23.17 g of 99.99% pure silver, 36.07 mm across, proof finish with a serrated edge. It comes in the Mint's black clamshell with the purple Queen Elizabeth II graphic box and serialized certificate.

Historical Significance

Queen Elizabeth II reigned for 70 years and appeared on every Canadian coin struck in that time. The four obverse portraits here are by Mary Gillick (1953), Arnold Machin (1965), Dora de Pédery-Hunt (1990) and Susanna Blunt (2003). This coin was issued in late 2022, after her passing, as part of the Mint's tribute series.

Why We Love This One

Four Queens on one dollar. The gold crown is striking, and the obverse is a little history lesson in Canadian coinage.
