The bear doesn't just sit on this coin, it comes right out of it. On this 2025 $50 proof from the Royal Canadian Mint, the black bear from Ontario's coat of arms is struck in Extraordinarily High Relief, so its head and shoulders rise up off the coin like a small sculpture, standing out from a woodgrain background.
Struck in 70 g of 99.99% pure silver (2.25 troy oz), 50 mm across. It comes in its capsule in the black Mint case with the outer box and the information card.

Turn it in the light and the bear seems to step out toward you. A striking, sculptural coin that looks even better in hand, and a standout for Ontario collectors.
