Historical Significance

Canada lowered the silver in its small five-cent coin from 92.5% to 80% in 1920. The silver five-cent coin ended soon after, replaced in 1922 by a larger nickel coin. Most 1921 fish scales were melted, which makes that date a rarity that we never include in bundles.
