Historical Significance

Canadian five-cent coins were originally struck in silver, and their compact size earned them the nickname “fish scales.” From 1908 to 1919 they were made in 92.5% silver; in 1922 Canada replaced the silver five-cent coin with a larger nickel coin.

Why We Bundled These

Fish scales are tiny, historic and genuinely silver. An easy, affordable way to start a Canadian silver collection.
